Any Arena game can be played live against a friend. You both get the same questions at the same moment and watch each other’s score as you go.

Search a friend by name or @username to invite them.

01Start a match

  1. 1

Choose “Play with a friend · live”

From a game’s How to play screen, Play live on a result screen, or Challenge on another student’s profile.

  2. 2

    Find your friend

Search their name or @username. They get a pop-up and a notification.

  3. 3

    Wait for them

They have one minute to join. Stay on the waiting screen — leaving it cancels the invite.

  4. 4

    Play

Five seconds after they accept, you both start on the same 3 · 2 · 1.

02Who wins

Most right answers wins (in Memory, most rounds cleared). If it’s a tie, fewer mistakes wins, then whoever got there first. If it’s still level, it’s a draw.

  • Leaving mid-match, or going quiet for 20 seconds, means you forfeit.
  • Each player earns Dopamine for their own round, just like a solo game.
  • Up to 40 invites a day. Sending a new invite cancels your previous one.
  • You can’t invite someone who’s already in a match, or someone you’ve blocked (or who blocked you).
